Health & Safety

As your representative in port, our Health & Safety measures receive the same meticulous attention as your own.
We are not content simply to comply with relevant legislation; we take it further. Safety awareness is a prerequisite for all our staff. All boarding personnel have undertaken approved safety on board awareness courses not just in gas, chemical and oil tankers but in dry bulk and steel traffics.

The Environment

Environmental responsibility is also a major part of our ethos.
Whatever we do, we ensure our impact on the environment is minimal, recycling, wherever possible, and encouraging our staff to drive 'greener' cars. Our expertise in biodiesel is yet another example of our commitment to sustaining our planet's future.

ISO9001

Our practices are underpinned by a strict adherence to the ISO 9001 quality standard which forms an important part of the Casper ethos of high quality service provision.

Chemical Distribution Institution audit (CDI)

In 2005, Casper Shipping was the first shipping agency and freight forwarding company in the world to successfully complete a CDI-mpc quality audit - a result of our 'mature, robust, well controlled and implemented' ISO quality system.

FONASBA

The Federation of National Association of Ships Brokers and Agents.
In April 2008, Casper Shipping became full members of FONASBA which was formed in 1969 to speak with authority on behalf of the shipping profession in so far as shipbrokers and agents are concerned, to promote fair and equitable practices in those professions, to co-operate with other international maritime bodies and to consult and advise on any matters of concern to the shipping industry.  web link: http://www.fonasba.com/main.html

Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers

Our word is our bond

Casper Shipping has always played an active role in the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers with membership of national committees and supplying officers to local branches.

Our Chairman, Kevin Shakesheff, is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Institute, and we have staff who are Fellows (FICS) & Members (MICS) of the Institute. In addition to, we also have members of the International Tanker and Tramp Agency committee as well as Membership of the Federation Council.We encourage all new agency operatives to study for the Industry's Foundation Diploma. Our people are also encouraged to progress to Membership - an important professional qualification that demonstrates our professionalism and commitment to the industry as a whole.
